About Civiccreatives
A Shop That Starts With the Edge
Civiccreatives fabricates and installs stone countertops for homes across Riverside. We are on Victoria Ave in the 92509 ZIP, close enough to the slab and remnant yards along the 60 corridor that we can meet a customer at a rack on a morning and have a template on the same kitchen that week.
Most countertop conversations start with the slab, and that is understandable. The slab is the thing you can see and touch, and it is the part that makes people fall in love with a kitchen. But the number at the bottom of a countertop quote is built from two separate measurements, and only one of them is the slab. The other is the linear foot of finished edge, and that is the one nobody explains.
Why We Lead With the Profile
An eased edge runs off the profiling machine in a single pass. A dupont with a step and a return takes several passes plus hand polishing to bring the shine back through the curve, and a mitred waterfall corner is effectively a second piece of stone, a glued joint, a colour match and a corner that has to be right because it sits at eye level for the life of the kitchen.
Those three jobs can start from the same slab. They do not take the same day, and they should not carry the same price. When a customer is surprised by a quote it is almost never the stone. It is the edge, and it is the island, because an island adds exposed perimeter far faster than it adds square footage.
So we do it the other way around. We bring physical samples of every profile we cut, hold them against your cabinet doors in your own light, and tell you what each one does to the number before anybody orders anything. If the honest answer is that a simple eased edge will look better in your kitchen and cost less, we say so. On the flat fronted cabinets in a lot of the newer inland tract houses, that is usually the true answer.
What We Actually Do
Templating on site, fabrication of the profile, seam placement, undermount sink cutouts with the front rail properly reinforced, and installation on cabinets that have been checked for level first. We work in quartz and in natural stone, and we are straight about how each behaves out here. Riverside summers are long and dry, the west facing windows in the older Wood Streets houses throw real heat onto a counter for hours, and some resin based quartz colours are happier out of that light than in it.
